Yanga joined HBUFC as a 17 year old playmaker in 2016. He was a phenomenal talent and arguably one of the best players in our 2017 Coke Cup winning team, earning him the nickname “Kaka”. His highlights in an HBUFC shirt: “Scoring in my first senior game and getting an assist to set up Zwai (another former HBUFC player), as well as winning the U18 Coke Cup”.
In 2020 when Covid and lockdown hit, Yanga got an opportunity to work with Tjarla and the Community Cookup. Since then, he has been involved as a chef for both HBUFC and Community Cookup, and has recently graduated from sous chef to head chef at The Dream Factory, where he is in charge of cooking and catering for our academy, first team and FTIFA Cape Town players.
“My dream is to help HBUFC achieve its goal of playing PSL football by continuing to cook with love as my way of supporting my team-mates, even though I am no longer out with them on the pitch”.
